Players need to be registered to try out for this level of hockey. Players will then be required to go through a series of scrimmages and skill sessions. The coaching staff may choose players based on the players skills,abilities, dedication and attitude. Coaches for these teams are selected prior to tryouts beginning. Teams at these levels are coach pick only.
Should coaches (non-parental) clothing (jackets, track suits, etc.) be paid for out of team fees or should the coaches pay for these items themselves.
When teams are conducting their first team meeting items such as this should be discussed and voted on then. It is up to each individual team whether or not they choose to fund coaches clothing,travel etc.

Can you tell me something about Early Morning Ice
SAMHA is not the only ice user group in St. Albert. If you see an empty rink it does not mean that the ice belonged to SAMHA, it could belong to another user group. SAMHA does not generally inform teams that have early morning practices when there has been a cancellation by another user group that might start a bit later than 6a.m. Doing this could create chaos trying to make sure the change reaches all coaches, parents and refereeās etc. This is not a simple phone call. The distribution of Non-Desirable Ice is pretty evenly balanced. It is important when comparing different teams to remember that ice in Calahoo and Legal is counted as undesirable ice.

How can we tell by looking at the teams that are posted which ones are interlock and which ones are house league.
SAMHA Development league teams start with NC or AC followed by a team number. Interlock teams start with an SA or in some cases ST followed by the team number. Development league teams are only at the Novice and Atom levels, after that all teams are interlocked.
I see on the tournament list number and letter designations for the different levels. I am interesxted in understanding how they correspond to each other. For Example is Tier 2 equivalent to a B?
A=Tier 1 or a strong Tier 2
B=Tier 2 or Tier 3
C=Tier 4 or 5
D=Usually 5 or lower. These are very general comparisons as rural team designations are reliant on thier Associations member size, and is not always indicative of the teams strength.
