Admission - BUY ONLINE
Adult spectators must pay admission to attend Minor Hockey Week games. Adult Admission (18-65 years) is $3 for a single game or $5 for a Tournament Access Button. Purchasing a button gives you access to all Minor Hockey Week games and a small premium-roast coffee at participating McDonald's Restaurants.
Please stop at the entrance to buy your button. SAMHA purchases four buttons for each team; these are intended for coaches and will be available to pick up prior to your first game.
Social Media
Stories from Quikcard Edmonton Minor Hockey Week have been shared between families for decades ever since the event started in 1964. If your team is sharing QEMHW stories on social media, please tag Hockey Edmonton and SAMHA; use the hashtag #QEMHW. This is the easiest way for us to see the post and share it.
There is a tremendous volunteer commitment required to execute this tournament successfully. This year SAMHA volunteers will support over 300 working hours. The St. Albert Minor Hockey community has wonderful volunteers who dedicate their time throughout the hockey season, and they will be out in full force during this tournament.
If you are interested in volunteering this year please contact us at admin@samha.ca.
Tournament Rules
The rules of play during Minor Hockey Week are different than league play.
Some key differences are:
  • Games are shorter
  • Games are straight-time/running-time
  • Penalties are straight-time from the drop of the puck (2, 5 or 10minutes)
If you are a coach or volunteer, please familiarize yourself with the Tournament Rules.
Did you know?
Referees that participate in Minor Hockey Week volunteer 100% of their time; this helps keep the cost of this tournament low.
