Intro to hockey

U9 (2017-2018)

The goals and objectives of the SAMHA U9 Intro to Hockey programming are to:
  • Teach the basic skills of hockey so players can enjoy the game.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of physical literacy and basic motor patterns.
  • Deliver an appropriate program for the players' size, skill, and age.
  • Encourage the aspects of fitness, fair play and cooperation while having fun playing the game.
SAMHA U9 players can expect to be grouped with like-skilled players.
Teams will play a small-area game and practice weekly. Most games and practices will be on Saturday and Sunday. Teams will travel regionally to play neighbouring associations.
COST: $725
*increase of $200 on July 8th

PROGRAM SUMMARY 

REGISTRATION 

Registering for any St. Albert Minor Hockey Association program requires a Hockey Canada Identification Number.

You will receive this number after you complete the” Respect In Sport - Parent Edition (RIS)

If you have completed Respect In Sport in another sport, you must transfer your certificate to St. Albert Minor Hockey. Once this is complete, you will receive a Hockey Canada ID number. Learn more.

RESPECT IN SPORT: The fee for this course is $12.00. It expires after 4 years. When you complete the course, please ensure you select St. Albert Minor Hockey Association as your home association.

If you are new to hockey, a Birth Certificate or Passport is required to verify the age of the participant.

SAMHA will do its best to make accommodations for players and their families; however, we are unable to guarantee that we can fulfill all requests.

Please note that the other family must reciprocate the request to be considered.
