Female hockey
Alberta currently has close to 8,000 females participating in hockey and female hockey is currently one of the fastest-growing sports in the province.
Whether your daughter is just starting out or has been playing for a number of years - there are a number of great opportunities for her to become involved in female hockey.
REGISTRATION
SAMHA is excited to offer female hockey programs for players in the U7 to U18 divisions.
Resident registration opens on May 1st. Non-resident registration opens on July 9th.
Space is limited, so we encourage residents to register before July 9th.
This season, we will continue to use TeamSnap to manage our registration process. Please ensure you register early to secure your enrollment for next season.
2024-2025 FEMALE PROGRAM
Players can anticipate playing on all-female teams, and in most divisions, players will compete against other female teams.
Female players who reside within the Hockey Albert boundary map are eligible to register for St. Albert Minor Hockey female hockey programs starting May 1st.

Female players who would like to play with the St. Albert Minor Hockey Association but do not reside within the defined boundary must obtain written confirmation from their home association in the form of a Minor Hockey Player Movement Form. The signed Player Movement Form must be sent to registrar@samha.ca.
Non-resident registration opens on July 10th.
Resident players will be given a Player Movement Form to register elsewhere if St. Albert Minor Hockey female programs are at capacity.
SAMHA relies on dedicated volunteer coaches to guide players through their time in hockey.
We are committed to removing barriers for coaches and providing a supportive environment for coaches who want to become involved.
