Jase Weslosky
U9 Tier 1 Warriors
We’re proud to welcome Jase Weslosky as the Head Coach for the U9 Jr Raiders Warriors this season.
Jase brings a strong mix of coaching experience and personal connection to the Raiders program. A former Raiders player himself, Jase understands the values and culture of the organization and is committed to giving back to the program that helped shape his own hockey journey.
Jase is a former NCAA Division I goaltender, having played at St. Cloud State University before advancing to the professional level. He was selected 108th overall by the New York Islanders in the 2006 NHL Draft, bringing elite-level experience and perspective to his coaching role.
Jase has served as an assistant coach with the Jr Raiders Tier 1 team last season and brings with him one year of head coaching experience and three years as an assistant coach.
Jase holds certifications in Coach 1, Safety, and Respect in Sport – Activity Leader, and is also a volunteer member of the St. Albert Raiders Hockey Committee, where he helps support the development of AAA and AA hockey in the community.
Known for his calm, supportive approach, Jase is passionate about player development and building a fun, high-energy environment that helps young athletes build confidence and love the game.
Aaron Sorochan
U9 Tier 1 Vipers
Welcome Aaron Sorochan – Head Coach, U9 Jr Raiders Vipers.
We’re excited to welcome Aaron Sorochan as the Head Coach of the U9 Jr Raiders for the upcoming season.
Aaron brings with him two years of head coaching experience and an additional two years as an assistant coach, along with certifications in Coach 1, Safety, and Respect in Sport – Activity Leader. He is currently a goaltending instructor for the St. Albert Public Hockey Academy. His commitment to learning and growth sets a strong foundation for his work with young players.
Before coaching, Aaron had an impressive playing career, including five years in the WHL and four years at the University of Alberta, where he helped lead the Golden Bears to two National Championship Titles while earning a Bachelor of Education degree. He also played professionally for the Oilers Farm Team in the AHL, bringing a wealth of high-level experience to his coaching.
Aaron is passionate about developing young players both on and off the ice. He creates a positive and structured environment focused on skill development, confidence, and a genuine love for the game.
St. Albert Minor Hockey is committed to providing a comprehensive development program for players who want to eventually reach elite hockey and stay within their own hockey community. We are confident the leaders selected for this program willallow playersy to advance their skills further.
The Jr Raiders AA program is a competitive stream of hockey, and players will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the program. This process varies in each division.
