HIGH PERFORMANCE

The Raiders and Jr Raiders programs offer a high-performance hockey stream (AA & AAA) for players within the St. Albert Minor Hockey Association.

The St. Albert Raiders program provides players U13 and older with the opportunity to step into a competitive, high-performance environment built on passion, tradition, and excellence.

The Jr Raiders program serves as an introductory high-performance development pathway for younger players aspiring to reach AA or AAA levels—while remaining within their local hockey community.

COMMUNITY HOCKEY

Players in the St. Albert Minor Hockey Association’s Community Hockey program are placed on teams with others of similar skill and ability through a structured evaluation process.

STA Program (U9 - U18): Teams compete in the Edmonton Federation Hockey League (EFHL), playing an 18–20 game regular season with travel throughout the Edmonton area.

Intro to Hockey (U5 & U7): Our Intro to Hockey program supports teams at the U5 and U7 levels, where players take their early strides in the game.

RECREATION HOCKEY

St. Albert Minor Hockey remains committed to offering a Recreational Hockey option through the Edmonton Federation Hockey League (EFHL) for players in U13, U15, and U18.

This program provides participants with a less structured hockey experience. There are 1-2 initial meet-and-greet practices and 18 games during the season.

The focus is on participation, fun and meeting new people.

ABOUT

St. Albert Minor Hockey Association is comprised of approximately 2000 youth players and over 900 volunteers. Initially formed in 1980, St. Albert Minor Hockey Association has grown to be one of the largest minor hockey associations in Western Canada.

Our program consists of a strong base of community hockey, supplemental development opportunities and

participation in the high-performance programs through the St. Albert Raiders. St. Albert Minor Hockey Association has a dedicated community of volunteers that support minor hockey on and off the ice.

We empower young athletes to thrive in an environment where hockey goes beyond skill development—it’s a platform for personal growth and character building.

NEW TO HOCKEY

Hockey creates memories that last a lifetime—whether it’s chasing a gold medal, skating with friends, or lending a hand at the local rink. At St. Albert Minor Hockey, we’re proud to be part of those special moments and excited to welcome new families to the game.

We offer two beginner programs for first-time players in the U9 age group and younger. Let’s hit the ice!

RETURNING PLAYERS

We’re excited to have you back for another season of teamwork, growth, and great hockey. Let’s build on last year and make even more unforgettable memories on the ice!

FIND YOUR FIT

Get evaluated to see which tier is the best fit for your skills and development. We know evaluations can feel overwhelming, so we’ve also put together player movement data to help you understand what to expect from year to year.

Curious how things usually go? See where second-year U11 players in each tier typically land in U13—based on data from the 2024–2025 season.
